Why You Should ‘Definitely’ Own a PlayStation 5

PlayStation is a gaming console made by Sony Entertainment. As a company, Sony has been at the top of its game with its electronic products and media content. In the last 1990s, Sony came up with a gaming Console named ‘Playstation,’ and it became a major hit within a short time. Other companies, such as Nintendo, Sega, Atari, etc., were struggling to match the quality of Sony Consoles. Fast forward to 2020, Sony introduced the 5th Console In the same series, which is known as the PlayStation 5 or PS5. If you are a gamer and do not own a PS5, here are a few reasons why you should own a PlayStation 5.

Amazing Exclusives: The chief reason people prefer buying PS5 rather than Xbox One X is because of the amazing arsenal of games Sony offers. Games like God of War, Days Gone, Last of Us, Last of Us Part 2, Spiderman, Spiderman Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, etc., are the legendary titles made by Sony. Most of these can only be played on the PS5 console, making people choose between owning a gaming PC and a PS5. The games are rich with story content and the gameplay is amazing when compared to the Industry-average quality (Andronico, 2021).

Longevity: When PS4 first came back in 2013, it was considered a milestone in the gaming industry. Even in 2021, many of the PS4s from eight years ago are still functioning properly with minor lag. The hardware and software utilized in making a Sony console are so advanced that even the latest games can be run smoothly on old consoles. While owning a PC could be stressful as the hardware becomes old every 3-4 years, The PS5 will run smoothly for an extended period unless one spills coffee in it or throw it off the balcony while rage quitting!

Backward Compatibility: Sony brought a great feature in PS5 that was not present in its predecessors; backward compatibility (Andronico, 2021). Most of the PS4 discs can be played on the PS5 console. So, even if somebody missed out on a game from the PS4 generation and wants to revisit the game, they can easily use the PS4 disc to play games on the PS5.

Great Online Library: The gaming Library offered by Sony is amazing. There are many online subscription plans such as the PS Plus and PS Now, each with its own offerings. Once a game has been purchased, it can be played on other PS5  consoles by just switching the account. Older accounts of PS4 can be transferred, and then the library available on the older console can be used on PS5. This feature alone makes PS5 one of the top picks for busy gamers.

Gameplay Smoothness: The PS5 is one of the first consoles to allow 8k gaming at 120 FPS maximum. Although the software has not been updated to support flawless gaming at such high resolution and FPS, Sony has promised that within the next 2-3 years, the console will be capable of playing almost all games at 8K resolution and up to 120 frames per second. Currently, players can easily play games at 4K resolution and 120 frames per second (Andronico, 2021).

The bottom line is, if you do not own a PlayStation 5 yet, it is high time you think about buying one.
